Here’s some of the brand new groups who have signed up for Blasda 2012 across Scotland. We’ll be posting individual blogs about each event in a few weeks.
Huntly Hairst – Food & Farm Festival
Huntly Hairst Festival will be on the 30th August to the 6th of September. This years event will co-incide with the Blasda celebrations. Events organised include the World Stovies Championship (including Exotic Stovies section), an allotment harvest lunch, cookery demos, Farmers Market, children’s cooking competitions, butchery demos, how to skin a rabbit, pigeon plucking contest, rare breed livestock, wild food foraging and much much more. The event will take place at Huntly Square.
ROWAN
Rosshire Waste Action Network will be hosting a Blasda event on Saturday 8th September. They will also be celebrating their AGM and volunteers meeting. The event will take place at the Loch an Mhoid Community Garden Muir of Ord IV6 7QZ.
Stockbridge Market
Stockbridge Market are holding a Blasda event on the 26th of August. There will be a pop up restaurant and a make your own crepe stand along with the producers stalls and many other things. It will co-incide with there markets which are held every Sunday 10am-5pm and every Thursday during the Summer. The market is in the little park bordered by Saunders Street and Kerr Street, right on the water of Leith.
Lanarkshire Farmers’ Market
Lanarkshire Farmers’ Market are having a farmer’s market in Hamilton co-inciding with Blasda 2012. Their event will be on the weekend of the 8th of September . It will take place at New Cross, Top of Quarry Street, (at Bairds), Hamilton.
Kilmarnock Farmers Market
Sat 15th September, 9-1 at Kilmarnock, The Cross KF1 1LR. Lots of amazing fresh produce from local producers. See Ayrshire and Arran Food Network and Ayrshire Farmers Market for more details.
Robert Burns Museum
A great Ayrshire event at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum on Sunday 16th September 2012, featuring cheese and chutneys from local producers and suppliers.
