Blasda

Scotland’s Local Food Feast September 2012

Stockbridge Blasda

Blasda kicks off with Stockbridge Market – a farmers market with a continental touch. Stockbridge Market are holding a Blasda event on the 26th of August. The market is in the little park bordered by Saunders Street and Kerr Street, right on the water of Leith.Organisers Beth Berry and Jean Francois Toulouze write:

We are thrilled to be part of Blasda as we feel passionately about eating real food bought locally from real producers. Its so good to be part of a movement that echos exactly our ethos – put real, seasonal unprocessed food back on the Scottish plate, put shoppers back in touch with producers, put the personal experience back into shopping – lets all enjoy the way we shop and the food we eat.

Held every Sunday year round under the trees beside the Water of Leith in Stockbridge, you’ll find great local produce brought to market by the producers themselves – bread, fish, meat, vegetables, pies, jams and chutneys.

During the summer months the plan is to open on Thursdays 2.30 to 7.30 pm. Follow them on Facebook Stockbridge Market, twiiter @stockbridgemark, or check out the web site for directions and producer details – www.stockbridgemarket.com
