Come along to Armadale Community Gardens! This will be Scotland’s only event to feature both Blasda touring teams – the Seed Truck and the Culture Kitchen Relay. The Seed Truck is going across Scotland offering workshops on how to make and grow your own food, and the Culture Kitchen Relay is cooking, collecting and sharing all sorts of recipes from different community groups round the land.
When? TUESDAY 28TH AUGUST, 4 – 7.30PM
Where? ARMADALE COMMUNITY GARDENS, NEXT TO THE ARMADALE FILLING STATION IN SLEAT.
4pm The Seed Truck will be there with two workshops –
Magic Porridge Pot Come and make your own porridge while listening to this magical folk tale of wild food foraging. For younger children.
Flour Mill Bike Grind your own grain with the fantastic bicycle powered flour mill. Take away a bag of super-fresh flour or oatmeal for your own baking.
5pm The Culture Kitchen Relay will kick off with Iain MacEachern, chef and food-grower extraordinaire, showing us how to cook a delicious recipe using fresh produce.
6pm The Culture Kitchen Relay will then cook up a recipe that they have brought fresh from Ullapool – this is how the Culture Kitchen Relay works – it’s the perfect way to learn the best and most delicious recipes straight from the kitchens of Scotland’s food pioneers.
